Pro-Natura has recently started a "Comprehensive Assessment of Transboundary Conservation Opportunities in Latin America" for the InterAmerican Development Bank.

The objective of the one year project is to provide the data and analysis necessary to prioritize potential transboundary conservation areas (TBCAs) in Latin America, and to facilitate the institutional, social, technical, and financial analyses necessary to design and develop regional TBCA projects. The project will produce an analysis of lessons learned from selected TBCA projects worldwide in order to prioritize and assess at least 10 potential new TBCA project sites in Latin America.

The assessment of new sites will include the institutional, policy and technical analysis and reference materials necessary to support the development of formal project proposals for each prioritized site. It will also emphasize consultation with country stakeholders and Bank experts regarding the potential practicability of selected sites.
